Description:
CJM Hampton Court organized the Inter-house Debate and Declamation Competition on July 4, 2025. The event featured students from different classes participating in debate and declamations, showcasing their public speaking, critical thinking, and argumentation skills.
The debate segment for classes 9-12 featured the thought-provoking topic "Ceasing wars between countries is a permanent solution for world peace." Students engaged in articulate discussions, presenting compelling arguments and counterarguments. Ridhimma Sonkar from Class XI, representing Enterprise House, demonstrated exceptional debating skills and was declared the Best Speaker in the debate segment.
In the declamation segment, students from classes 6-8 delivered passionate and eloquent speeches based on famous speeches by renowned personalities. Shalvi Thapliyal from Class VIII A, representing Endeavour House, stood out with her impressive delivery and was adjudged the Best Speaker in the declamation segment.
The competition was judged by a distinguished panel comprising Ms. Helena Singh and Mrs. Juhi Sabharwal, esteemed educators with valuable insights and expertise. They emphasized the importance of reading and writing in today's changing world, providing crucial feedback that helped evaluate the students' performances.
The competition culminated with Endurance House winning the overall trophy, while Endeavour House emerged as the runner-up. The event not only enhanced the students' public speaking skills but also fostered critical thinking, teamwork, and confidence.
